The Story of the BEAM

Can you believe it, the last time the Sacramento Kings made it to the NBA playoffs was in the 2005-2006 season, when they were eliminated in the first round by the San Antonio Spurs.

Since then, the Kings have struggled to qualify for the playoffs, enduring a period of inconsistency and rebuilding. Despite the efforts to rebuild the team and make improvements over the years, they have not been able to secure a postseason berth.

The playoff drought has been a significant point of frustration for the Kings’ fanbase and the organization itself. The team has made changes to its coaching staff and roster in hopes of ending the drought year after year.

I’m happy to say that the drought has finally ended for the Sacramento Kings! They’ve finally broke what seemed to be an impossible task and showed that they are Kings for a reason. They were able to Rank 3rd in the 2022-23 NBA western conference with the help of several changes to the team.

One being the hiring of Head Coach Mike Brown. He’s one of the main driving forces in creating a new culture for the team. Placing accountability on the players individually and also making sure they work to figure out ways to win as a team by learning the strengths of one another.

The addition of new players to the roster also helped push the team to success. Keegan Murray, Malik Monk, Kevin Huerter, Trey Lyles, Kessler Edwards, and Matthew Dellavedova are one of the many additions to the team that each provided a boost in offense and defense which greatly helped the team.

The last change was one that inspired me to create this shop 🟣 It’s the addition of the BEAM in Sacramento that sparked a big change in creating a winning culture. The Beam represents a symbol of hope for the city of Sacramento that makes it special to the players and for Kings fans. When the team wins a game during the regular and post season, a bright purple beam of light is shot into the sky from the Golden 1 Center that tells those who witness it that the team has won the basketball game. It’s a wonderful addition to the city that has brought interest and excitement back for old and new Kings fans. Light the Beam!
